    Creating a quiz

Build a quiz from six question types, add pictures, set a time limit, and publish it to a class.

    Updated October 18, 2026

    1. Open Assignments in the sidebar, choose the Quizzes tab, and click Create Quiz.
    2. Enter a Title and pick the Class the quiz is for. A description is optional.
    3. Click Add Question, choose a Question Type, then write the question and its answer.
    4. Set Points for each question (1 to 100) and, if you like, an Explanation students see with the answers.
    5. Click Save Draft to keep working later, or Publish to send it to the class.

    Question types

    • Multiple Choice: 2 to 8 options; mark the correct one.
    • True / False.
    • Short Answer: add an Expected Answer to guide grading.
    • Fill in the Blank: type ___ where the blank goes, then the answer.
    • Matching: 2 to 8 pairs.
    • Ordering: 2 to 10 items in the right order. Students see them shuffled.

    Quiz settings

In the Quiz Settings panel, set a Time Limit (up to 120 minutes, or no limit) and choose whether students see their results and the correct answers straight after they submit (Show Results). The Answer Key card lists every correct answer.

Note:Publishing sends the quiz to every student enrolled in its class. Quizzes don't have due dates. Choose the class carefully: it can't be changed after the quiz is created.

    Adding pictures

Questions and multiple-choice answers can each have a picture. The AI can draw it, or you can upload your own.

The quickest way: in Generate with AI, turn on Add pictures, then click Generate. The AI draws pictures only for the questions that need one, and they fill in while you look through the questions.

To add or change the picture on one question:

    1. Click Add Question, or the pencil on a question to edit it.
    2. Under Picture, click Draw with AI, describe what to draw, and click Draw (about 15 seconds). Or click Upload picture to use your own.
    3. Check the description under the picture, or write one for a picture you uploaded. It's read aloud to students who can't see the picture.

Picture answers: on a multiple-choice question, click the picture button beside an answer to give it a picture. Students then choose from picture cards. An answer with a picture doesn't need any text.

AI pictures come from a monthly allowance: 10 on Free, 300 on Pro and 1,000 on Power. Uploaded pictures never count, and the picture area shows how many AI pictures you have left.

Tip:The AI leaves words and numbers out of its drawings. For graphs, maps and labelled diagrams, upload your own picture.
