Using the lesson planner
Plan your week on a calendar, build lessons from sections, and move lessons around.
Updated October 20, 2026
Open Lesson Planner in the sidebar. Calendar shows your week, Monday first; Day View lists one day's lessons; Settings lets you choose how many days you see and whether weekends show.
Adding a lesson
- Click + in a day, or a dashed Click to plan slot (these appear for classes with a weekly schedule).
- In Day View, click Add Lesson.
- Or click Plan This Week to set up a lesson for every scheduled class at once. It creates empty draft lessons, named after each class, for you to fill in.
In the Create New Lesson box, give it a Lesson Title, a Date and a Class, optionally add standards, then click Create Lesson. New lessons start as drafts.
Building the lesson
Each lesson is made of sections: Learning Objectives, Warm-Up, Direct Instruction, Guided Practice, Independent Practice, and Assessment / Closure. Type straight into any section, with the same easy editor as the AI Tools, or click Generate with AI to have it written for you (see Generating a lesson plan with AI). Reorder sections with the arrows, hide one with the eye switch, or click Add Section for your own.
There's no Edit or Done button: click in a section and start typing. Once a section has text and the lesson has been saved, Ask AI to change it appears under it, with quick changes such as Shorter and Simpler words. The lesson still saves with Save Lesson.
Switch Status to Published when it's ready, and click Save Lesson.
Moving lessons around
The gear on a lesson card lets you change its time, status and description, push it a day forward or back, disable it, or clear its content. The gear on a day moves every lesson that day forward or back, or turns the day off.
